Members of NCAFP's executive committee submitted editorials to a number of state daily newspapers in late December on the need for Congressional action in reforming the SGR(Sustainable Growth Rate) system for Medicare. A couple newspapers published the editorials, and one -The Asheville Citizen-Times - provided NCAFP President-Elect Dr. Shannon Dowler the opportunity to write a longer guest opinion column. The editorials are a great example of the NCAFP's active efforts in helping to raise awareness of the need for SGR reform and to highlight its potential negative impacts on family physicians and overall health care access.
