Below lists the workshop and satellite opportunities that will be presented. You do not need to be a registered conference attendee to participate in most programs. Different registration rates do apply for conference attendees and non-conference attendees. Workshops and Satellite Programs are excellent ways for physicians to enhance their knowledge on various topics.

Nexplanon®
A Clinical Training Program - Non-CME Satellite

Course: 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm
Nexplanon is a long acting progestogen only hormonal contraceptive, effective for up to 3 years1. In clinical trials Nexplanon has demonstrated bioequivalence to the currently available subdermal contraceptive implant Implanon which is over 99% effective1. Each Nexplanon rod contains 68mg of etonogesterol and comes pre-loaded in an innovative disposable applicator, designed to be operated with one hand and facilitate insertion just below the skin.. This training is targeted for physicians that have not been trained on Implanon or Nexplanon. A light dinner will be provided. Seating is limited to 20 people.
In accordance with the PhRMA Code on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals, attendance at this educational program is limited to Healthcare Professionals. Accordingly, attendance by guests or spouses is not appropriate and cannot be accommodated.

Coding and Documentating E/M Services

Course: 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
This presentation will review the distinctions between E/M levels of service and the documentation advantages and challenges posed by electronic health records. A discussion of the role of documentation in support of the medical necessity of E/M services will also be addressed. The workshop will review the content of problem-oriented E/M and Preventive Medicine Services and the application of the codes to current day medical practice.

Joint Injections & Aspirations

Course: 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm
This hands-on workshop will describe the indications and contraindications for joint and soft-tissue injections and aspirations, discuss the critically reviewed evidence-based literature and identify safe and effective techniques for the 16 most common procedures. Participants will practice injection/aspiration techniques in various locations including the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee and foot.

Community Precepting: Teaching in a Busy Practice

Course: 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm
Assessing student knowledge and teaching can be a challenge in the midst of clinical care. In this workshop, we’ll discuss practical, efficient strategies to make teaching seamless and concise. By the end of this session, participants will utilize a standard format for clinical teaching and feedback.as well as identify methods to assess a learner’s knowledge. All clinicians who teach medical students are welcome! A light lunch will be provided.
