Medical student members of the NCAFP are actively involved in the leadership of our association. The following individuals currently serve in active leadership roles

Mr. Trimberger is a third-year medical student at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC. He received his B.S. degree in Biology at the University of Wisconsin, followed by his M.A. in Bioethics at Trinity Graduate School in Deerfield, Il.

Ms. Kirk is a 2nd-year medical student at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. She received her B.S. degree in Biology at UNC-Chapel Hill, followed by her MPH in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education from Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

Student Leadership Positions

NCAFP Student Director - The NCAFP Student Director serves on the Academy's Board of Directors and shall abide by all responsibilities as established by the NCAFP Student Section. The NCAFP Student Director shall assume full responsibilities of the NCAFP Student Section meetings. The NCAFP Student Director serves as the voting delegate at the National Conference of Student Members.

NCAFP Student Director-Elect - The NCAFP Student Director-Elect shall be a non-voting member of the Board of Directors and shall abide by all responsibilities as established by the NCAFP Student Section. The NCAFP Student Director-Elect shall assume full responsibilities of the NCAFP Student Section at the conclusion of his/her term as NCAFP Student Director-Elect or as a stand-in for the NCAFP Student Director if for any reason the NCAFP Student Director cannot fulfill his/her obligation/term.


NCAFP Foundation Student Trustee - As a trustee of the NCAFP Foundation Board, you hold a very special position of responsibility. You have been asked to serve on the NCAFP Foundation Board because of your leadership qualities, your dedication to the specialty of family medicine, and your desire to support the mission and objectives of the NCAFP Foundation.
